Paul’s success to date can be attributed to his wealth of knowledge and experience gained from a number of major influences. Paul spent six years as assistant to top UK trainer Mick Channon. Prior to this he worked for Jessica Harrington in Ireland and gained experience in America. Paul also held an amateur jockeys license which enabled him to gain valuable experience riding in races.
Paul had his first winner at Cork in March 2007, and each season since then the number of winners and prize money has increased significantly.
Paul’s ability to spot a talented young horse and to nurture their ability from the sales ring to the track has led to him being noted for being ‘one of the most exciting young trainers in Ireland’. He has had tremendous success with some very cheap purchases.
Paul is very lucky to have been supported by some great owners. He believes that every owner whether they are involved in a small share or a major number of horses is the same at Clifton Lodge, and emphasis is put on communication. Once Paul has established the owners’ requirements for a horse he sets out to meet their needs.
If owning a racehorse is something that you are interested in please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Paul, as racing in Ireland can offer outstanding prize money, competitive training fees and is renowned as an international market place for selling a horse.
